Comparison of WorldCereal with FAOSTAT data: an exploratory analysis

The Environment Statistics division at FAO published a report comparing the WorldCereal global products 2021 with official FAOSTAT land use statistics. The detailed spatial analysis clearly demonstrates the strong overall correlations between the two data sources, especially for temporary crops, cereals and irrigated areas. The report constitutes valuable feedback to the WorldCereal team, helping us to improve accuracy for the next batch of global products.

WorldCereal Final Report

The WorldCereal Final Report (FR) provides a summarized overview of the results of WorldCereal Phase I, the three-year research on the development of the first global seasonally updated temporary crop land and crop type maps. Read the final report to learn more about the:
