Short survey on in-situ reference data for crop mapping

WorldCereal is gathering feedback on your experiences in searching and working with in-situ reference data. Check the online survey and share your feedback.

The results will be used to expand the functionality of the WorldCereal Reference Data Module and explore ways to ensure continuity beyond the WorldCereal project.

User needs about online reference data

Harmonized in-situ reference data are crucial to create high quality global crop maps. The WorldCereal consortium has collected and harmonized over 100 in-situ datasets for different regions in the world and made them publicly available in the WorldCereal Reference Data Module.

As part of WorldCereal Phase II, we are now expanding the functionality of this module and exploring ways to ensure continuity beyond the WorldCereal project. In this respect, we would like to invite you to participate in a short online survey to gain a thorough understanding of the community needs and help us to:

  • Learn from your experiences in finding and working with in-situ reference data
  • Hear your opinion on our initiative to harmonize and publish in-situ reference data for crop mapping
  • Capture your specific needs and requirements regarding an online reference data repository
  • Identify remaining bottlenecks/obstacles for sharing in-situ reference data
  • Hear your thoughts about making the WorldCereal RDM available to the community on the longer term

The user feedback will help us to improve public access and ease future upload of other new and valuable data sets. It will take approximately 5-10 minutes of your time to complete the entire survey.
